Next year’s two biggest domestic events will take place at the Utilita Arena and Alexander Stadium
Both the 2025 UK Athletics Indoor and Outdoor Championships will take place in Birmingham.
Athletes, coaches and fans will make the trip to the city, with the national showpiece events taking place on February 22-23 and August 2-3 respectively.
Birmingham has recently been the home of the UK Athletics Indoor Championships and hosted the event in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The only other city to have held the championships in that period was Glasgow in 2020, while they were cancelled in 2021 because of Covid-19.
The UK Athletics Indoor Championships were held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield from 2007 to 2017, with the Steel City having also played host to the replaced AAA Indoor Championships on multiple occasions.
Meanwhile, the UK Athletics Outdoor Championships will return to Birmingham after a five-year absence.
Manchester played host to the event in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 but they used to be at the old Alexander Stadium, before it was renovated for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Although the extra stands at either end of the bends won’t be up for next year’s UK Athletics Outdoor Championships, still expect a great atmosphere in a 18,000 capacity stadium.
Birmingham hosted the event in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
The Alexander Stadium also held the AAA Championships on more than a dozen occasions, after it moved away from Crystal Palace in the 1980s.
